What techniques are the Creative Studio Oil Pastels suitable for?
Faber-Castell offers intense colors for encaustic, pastel and sgraffito techniques. The Creative Studio Oil Pastels are easy to wipe with a finger but can also be solved with white spirit.

Will I need to fix my soft pastel artwork?
Yes gentle fixing is recommended.

What does Manga mean?
Manga, which started in ancient Japan, continues to be tremendously popular today and is used to depict fantasy as well as serious subjects in a comic book format. The word comes from “man” (whimsical) and “ga” (drawings) and thus can be translated as whimsical drawings or pictures. Faber-Castell offers the finest quality pens for Manga which are ideal for art students and aspiring artists.

How many degrees of lead hardness are the Creative Studio Graphite Sketch Pencils available in?
They are available in 8 degrees of lead hardness. Listed from darkest (softer) to lightest (harder): 6B 4B 2B B HB H 2H 4H. The higher the number in B the darker/softer the lead is and the higher the number in H the lighter/harder the lead is as well.

One or two of my ColorBurst Paint Pens seem to be dried out. What should I do?
The ColorBurst Paint Pens may be re-hydrated by dipping the nib in water. The cap should always be securely fastened when the pens are not in use.

Are the MULTIMARK Pens permanent?
The Faber-Castell MULTIMARK Pens have the unique feature of being permanent and erasable. The ink adheres permanently to porous surfaces, yet can be erased off glossy surfaces such as glass or ceramic using the attached eraser. Try them on OHP’s, CD’s, DVD’s, glass, ceramic, plastic, stone, wood and metal!

Will the PITT Calligraphy Pens bleed through paper?
The PITT Calligraphy Pens use India ink that is permanent and waterproof and will not bleed through transparent vellum or parchment papers.

What type of paper should I purchase when I use the Faber-Castell Soft Pastels?
Any paper that has tooth or texture labeled for pastels will work well.
