Hand Lettered Homemade Valentine Cards

Note:
- For all of the following Valentine's Day cards with hand lettering motifs, it is important to note that, when moving the pen down (line from top to bottom), the color becomes more intense and the stroke broader. Drag the line carefully upwards, i.e. from the bottom to the top, to achieve a more delicate, lighter and thinner line.
- If you don’t have the suggested colors to hand, you can always use other colors.
- The following Valentine's Day cards are intended for advanced hand lettering artists. If you are a beginner, you can print out the finished motifs and use them as a template.
DIY Instructions for Homemade Valentine's Day Cards:
"I Love You" Valentine's Day Card:
For this Valentine's Day card, you need Pitt Artist Pens in the versions B pink madder lake 129, B deep red 223 and S black 199.
Step 1:
Start with a soft lettering without edges. Place each word on a different line.
Step 2:
For the second lettering, the so-called Western Style is used. Be sure to edge it in red.
Step 3:
The third lettering has more edges than the first. Note the thicker and thinner lines of the individual letters. Add hearts as decoration.
Step 4:
Now trace the contours with black. You can edge the words completely with black or only add a contour on the right or left as shown in the template.
"My Heart is Yours" Valentine's Day Card:
For this Valentine's Day card, you will need Pitt Artist Pens in the versions S black 199, B cold grey IV 233, B warm grey III 272, B deep red 223 and B light yellow glaze 104.
Step 1:
Start the card by drawing the outline of the banner. Take care to draw straight lines for the lettering and curved lines for the banner. The lettering stands out with finer lines and edges. Plan in sufficient space for the circle in the top half of the picture.
Step 2:
Finish the lettering and decorate the card with heart and arrow motifs. Add the “is” between the ends of the banner. A 3D effect for the flag is created with dashing in delicate grey. The word “yours” forms an antithesis to the edges in the “Heart” lettering with its soft shape.
Step 3:
Highlight the letters in the “Heart” lettering with red lines on the left side. Then use shading on the letters. Ensure that the lines always have the same spacing and do not vary too much. Emphasize the “yours” lettering by tracing the letters with yellow and red.
"#mylove" Valentine's Day Card:
For this Valentine's Day card, you need Pitt Artist Pens in the versions S black 199, B light cobalt turquoise 154 and B deep red 223.
Step 1:
For this simple lettering, it is important that the individual letters follow each other cleanly. Ensure that the “o” and the “v” have space on the “L”. Place the first stroke of the “v” around the “o”. Trace some contours of the hashtag with black.
Step 2:
Trace the contours on the left side with red. Now connect the “L” and the “e” with a sweeping motion. Paint hearts in front of and behind the lettering.
"Sending you my Love" Valentine's Day Card:
For this Valentine's Day card motif, you need Pitt Artist Pens in the versions S black 199, B warm grey V 274, B deep red 223, 1,5 Bullet Nib 199, B permanent green olive 167, B may green 170, B light green 171 and a pencil.
Step 1:
Draw a delicate circle with a pencil to prepare the template. You can use a glass as an aid here if needed. Position the word “Sending” in the top part of the circle. Ensure that you write along the circle without a slope. Place the “you” almost in the center and horizontally behind it.
Step 2:
Shade the remaining surface of the “v” and use the Pitt Artist Pen 1.5 Bullet Nib 199 to trace the contours on the right side of the word “Love”. Decorate the circle with light and dark green shades. Start by using the darker shade of green. Use fine red strokes to hint at the roses and add soft accents with black.
"You are my Valentine" Valentine's Day Card:
For this Valentine's Day card motif, you need Pitt Artist Pens in the versions S black 199, B deep red 223, 1.5 Bullet Nib 199, B warm grey V 274, B cold grey I 230 and a pencil.
Step 1:
Sketch a delicate heart with a pencil. Write the words “You” and “are” with as much contact with the contours of the heart as possible.
Step 2:
Place the “V” in the tip of the heart. Write the word “Valentine” along the left contour of the heart. Ensure that the distance to the “are” is not too small or too large and rises precisely. Then trace the contours of the “You” with red. You can insert the “my” with the Pitt Artist Pen 1.5 Bullet Nib.
Step 3:
Trace the lettering of “Valentine” with grey to achieve a 3D effect. To emphasize the lettering even further, trace the red lettering again with black.
