Calligraphy and Pitt Artist Pen

Start writing the quote with the lightest color of the Calligraphy Pitt Artist Pen. I used Green Gold #268, the lightest in my selection of colors.

To emphasize certain words in the quote that stood out to me, I stretched the word ‘life’ out horizontally and used the color Raw Umber # 180.

I wrote the next few lines in color gradation from light to dark using Nougat #178, Sanguine #188 and Dark Sepia #175 respectively.

I decided to write the remaining part of the quote in reverse color order from dark to light to visually round out what I started.

Again, I stretched out to emphasize words, wrote them in all caps, and even wrote the most important word in a darker color. All these little variations help me visually convey what the quote means to me. This process is unique to each artist and you can experiment with whatever speaks to you the most.

The India ink of these pens dry instantly. Once they are dry, you can erase the pencil lines.

Take it a step further by trimming the paper down and rounding off the corners.

I hope you enjoyed today’s lettering tutorial with the Calligraphy Pitt Artist Pens and are inspired to keep practicing you handwriting.
