Watercolor paper

Bookmark paper with a graphite pencil and eraser

Start with a light pencil sketch of a feather using Castell® 9000 Graphite Pencil – HB.

Bookmark with Watercolors in a Pan and a water cup

Create a very light wash with #280 Burnt Umber Pan watercolor over the whole feather.

Add a layer of #172 Earth Green Pan Watercolor to create the base pattern.

Watercolor feather bookmark with a Polychromos Color Pencil

Darken the base pattern with #234 Cold Grey V Pan Watercolor. Once dry, add some soft bard details with Polychromos® Artists' Color Pencil - #273 Warm Grey IV.

Watercolor feather bookmark with a Pitt Artist Pen

Outline the shaft and add more barb lines with Pitt Artist Pen® Extra Superfine - #199 Black to finish.
