The daily doldrums of school are in full swing. Whether it has been a month or just a few weeks, the routine for after school has hopefully been smooth sailing. Every school year I remind myself to not fall into the habit I had as a child: my mom would ask, “how is school,” and I dutifully answered, “fine.” We usually would then mumble a few more words and the subject quickly changed. It’s not like I didn’t have anything to share, I just didn’t find it significant.

Back to school is a bittersweet time- the end of summer but the start of a new school year. Pick yourself up by making this “Tie-Dye” style notebook. What makes it great is that you don’t really need tie-dyeing supplies- and we avoid the mess by using tissue paper and shelf liner!

The Faber-Castell Creativity Suite turned a little more youthful last Friday as we welcomed over a dozen children from our families for our World Colors Launch Party. Art Educator Franz Spohn lead the children through creating a "Pop-Up Family Portrait" using our newly released World Colors Colored Pencils.
