Baking Tray Print Fun - Preschooler Art Tutorial

It's time to bake - but not a cake! No ovens or heat - just a tray and paper for your art to meet!Â
Time: 15 minutesÂ
Recommended Art Materials:Â
Jumbo Washable Squeeze Paintbrushes
Flat rectangular baking trayÂ
Cotton tipÂ
Paper

Step 1:
Grab a flat rectangular baking tray from your kitchen. Using Jumbo Washable Squeeze Paintbrushes, paint a solid base of colorful creativity on the baking tray. You can try using a mix of different colors and patterns.

Step 2:
It’s time to make your mark! Use a cotton tip to make marks in the painted tray. Try experimenting with wavy lines, zigzag lines, spots, dots and dashes!

Step 3:
Carefully place a sheet of paper down onto the baking tray art. By pressing down firmly across the paper, you’ll make a fun print of your lovely creation!

Step 4:
Starting at one corner, carefully peel back your paper to reveal an imprint of your artwork. Leave on a flat surface to dry. Once dry, your artwork print is ready to display!
Big Thinkers:
Depending on how much paint is applied, this print-making method can be used to make a few extra copies of the design. Any extra copies can be given to family members.Â
Skill Development:
Pre-writing: Making a variety of marks builds whole hand strength to ensure children begin their pre-writing journey in the best way possible.
Fine Motor Skills: Carefully lining up paper on a tray and making deliberate marks with a cotton tip builds fine motor control.
