Let's Draw Summer Doodle Art!

Hello Everyone! Summer is here and I am super happy! I love all the four Seasons that we get here in NW Arkansas area but what I love most is to draw cute, & fun doodles to represent the Seasons as they change.

Summer to me just screams bright colors, it’s the sunshine and definitely lots of yummy ice creams! It’s going on trips with loved ones and making lots of exceptional memories to remember through the years.

Today’s post I will be sharing with you how to create this fun illustration that reminds me of a very fun summer scene. You may play around and change up your character as you please. But get your supplies ready, and let’s create!

For this project I used a marker pad, but anything with a smooth finish surface will work too.

I will also be using my favorite Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens for my line art and to color everything in.

Step 1: Create your Character. Think Flabby and Round for the shape of your body. They are the cutest ones!

Step 2: Add Face & Expression. I like my characters always happy and having fun! Big Eyes & Small mouth are my go-to when it comes to whimsical and kawaii drawings.

Step 3: Set up your Scene. I wanted Mr. Flabber (Yes, I name my characters, you should too!) to be super happy and enjoying himself literally over the clouds.

Add cute faces to your clouds too!

Step 5: Adding Elements to the Scene. I added Mr. Sun and The Rainbows.

I’m adding more elements. Bows, Ice Cream, and Popsicle too!!!

Step 6: Add a Fun Phrase, A Word, or a Quote.

Step 7: Get your Markers & Have Fun Coloring your Artwork.

Step 8: Add Fillers & Finishing Touches.
