Drawing a Monstera Plant with Polychromos Color Pencils
Hi everyone, Mou Saha here to share a life drawing tutorial using Polychromos Color Pencils in my series of sketching houseplants.
Recommended Sketching Materials:
Graphite Sketch Pencils - HB - #112500
Kneadable Art Eraser - Grey - #127220
Polychromos® Artists' Color Pencils - Tin of 60 - #110060
Here’s a photo of the plant that I was drawing from.
I used my HB graphite pencil for a quick light sketch of the monstera plant.
I chose three colors – Dark Naples Ochre 184, Earth Green Yellowish 168 and Juniper Green 165 for my base layer of colors for the leaves.
Continue to color the leaves.
I colored the plastic pot with various shades of blues and greys and finished the leaves with some Deep Cobalt Green 158 and Pine Green 267. I used Raw Umber 180 for the potting soil and finished the window sill with Warm Grey II 271 and Warm Grey V 274.
I hope you enjoyed the tutorial and choose the amazing variety of shades of the Faber-Castell Polychromos Color Pencils to draw your houseplants.
