Beach Read Bookmark Watercolor Tutorial
Every great beach read need an even better bookmark. Create your very own personal bookmark with this watercolor tutorial. Join artist Mou Saha as she uses Watercolors in Pans, Polychromos, and more to create a feather bookmark for those lazy beach hours when we curl up with a good book at the beach.
Recommended Bookmark Materials:
Start with a light pencil sketch of a feather using Castell® 9000 Graphite Pencil – HB.
Create a very light wash with #280 Burnt Umber Pan watercolor over the whole feather.
Add a layer of #172 Earth Green Pan Watercolor to create the base pattern.
Darken the base pattern with #234 Cold Grey V Pan Watercolor. Once dry, add some soft bard details with Polychromos® Artists' Color Pencil - #273 Warm Grey IV.
Outline the shaft and add more barb lines with Pitt Artist Pen® Extra Superfine - #199 Black to finish.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and have fun making your own book mark this summer for all you beach reads!
