Albrecht Durer Watercolor Pencils

The difference between Albrecht Dürer and Goldfaber Aqua starts at the appearance and lead size. Albrecht Dürer holds a thick 3.8 mm lead; creating fine precise lines with break resistance. Goldfaber Aqua holds a break-resistant 3.3 mm lead. The lead color of your Albrecht Dürer can be identified by the entire coating of the pencil while Goldfaber Aqua is consistently grey with the lead shade painted on the end of the pencil. Goldfaber Aqua is also stamped with the item number and color number on the barrel where Albrecht Dürer is labeled with color name in German and English, color number, and lightfast rating.

Albrecht Dürer was created for the professional artist, with the highest quality pigments for unsurpassed lightfastness, many lasting for more than 100 years. Goldfaber Aqua is perfect for the student, aspiring artist, and hobby artist; its high-quality pigments are lightfast. Albrecht Dürer is available in 120 different colors; Goldfaber Aqua 48.

Though both lines have different attributes: they still carry the Faber-Castell quality. Made in Germany, both watercolor pencils are SV bonded, hexagonal, and coated with water-based varnish. Both pencils are also fully water-soluble, easily blended when wet, permanent when dry, highly pigmented, and provide a soft and vibrant color laydown. Consistency is key as both pencil line’s colors are consistent wet or dry. For easy use of various media, our pencils are part of a unique color matching system encompassing all Faber-Castell Art & Graphic products.
