Knitting is far more than taking a needle to yarn. Beyond the pride that comes from having the skill to create your own textiles and garments, knitting holds creative and personal benefits. Even better, adults are not the only people who can knit and reap the benefits. Kids can easily adopt the craft at a young age and join the community of creatives who have discovered the joys and benefits of knitting.
Creativity for Life / Quick Knit Loom
One spark can start a fire, or in Shira Blumenthal’s case, one stitch of yarn can start a movement. We at Faber-Castell Creativity for Kids have had the honor of not only getting to know Shira Blumenthal but partner with her anti-bullying movement Hat Not Hate with Lion Brand Yarn. Wanting to learn more from the woman who started the movement, we interviewed Shira about the past, present, and future of Hat Not Hate and the passion behind its success.
A special edition of the Creativity for Kids Quick Knit Loom makes it easier for youth to get involved with the anti-bullying campaign #HatNotHate.
